F?80 "Shooting Stars" of the 8th Fighter Bomber Wing, each loaded with two 1,000?pound bombs, streak through the skies over North Korea on their way to a Communist target. Fuel tanks at the edge of each wing provide an extra fuel load, enabling the fighter bombers to extend their combat range to targets far north of the battleline. Eighth Fighter Bomber Wing aircraft, along with other warplanes of Fifth Air Force, are making daily strikes against Communist supply, transportation and battleline targets in North Korea.
